The Humanistic Anthropology in Science of Culture:
Rereading of Claude Lévi-Strauss

Abstract. Claude Lévi-Strauss was one of the great intellectuals of the 20th century. – one of the founders of modern humanities, a consistent supporter of humanistic values and consistent pro-ponent of structural methods in anthropology. The strength of his scientific thought and social responsiveness was recognized even by the most irreconcilable critics of structuralist theory. And although Lévi-Strauss was not the first to drew attention to the structures of human thinking and behavior, just he mastered the logic of the primary organization of culture, and discovered a deep humanistic meaning in anthropology. Thanks to the structural anthropology of Lévi-Strauss, in-terest in cultural genesis and the primordial structures of human thinking has awakened with re-newed vigor in the humanities. The structuralism of Lévi-Strauss has become an integrating fac-tor not only within the framework of cultural anthropology, building a connection between ideas and generations in the dialogue of various scientific schools, but also a unifying force of interdis-ciplinary integration, filling humanities with natural-scientific and fundamental knowledge. Thanks to a new reading of the archaic heritage, technogenic civilization acquires useful and nec-essary knowledge for the formation of a new humanistic order in the relationship between cul-tures and peoples.

Keywords: humanities, anthropology, structuralism, fundamental knowledge, culture, heritage.
