A century later: the tragic experience of Soviet Culture
(continued)

Abstract. The article examines the negative aspects of Soviet cultural policy for more than 70 years – repression against writers and artists, because of which many authors spent many years in prison, and some lost their lives altogether, political, ideological, and sometimes aesthetic prohibi-tions on the publication of some works, ideological stamps in the image/description of certain characters, etc., which developed the cult of groveling before the authorities among the popula-tion. Moreover, the criteria and stamps changed with each change of ruler. Nevertheless, even in these conditions, figures of artistic culture managed to create masterpieces.
