The cat as a cultural hero:
from Puss in Boots to Schrodinger's Cat

Abstract. Using the example of the image of a Cat, its socio-cultural, mythopoeic and allegorical semantics, the article considers biological, social and cultural evolution as a single process, as a result of which not only human culture is formed, but also animal culture, which includes a varie-ty of species subcultures. The intense and mutually enriching dialogue between human culture and zooculture, starting in the forms of myth, then continues in artistic culture, philosophy and science and leads to the formation of a contradictory biosociocultural community, demonstrating the emerging unity of culture and nature.
