The history of stand-up on the example of the "Amazing Mrs. Maisel" or the mosaic consciousness of modern viewers of TV series?

Abstract. The article analyzes the artistic reality of the cult series "The Incredible Mrs. Maisel". There are several reviews from viewers, including negative ones. The question is raised about the reasons for the popularity of the series, despite the fact that, under strict analytical consideration, it looks mosaic and contradictory. Artistic techniques are discussed (the split personality of the hero, the transfer to the past of modern problems, etc., with the help of which the creators of the series create an artistic reality). The author shows that, despite the use of historical information, the public likes the series for another reason: it represents just modern problems and situations. In accordance with the logic of the comedy-drama web series, its creators Amy Sherman-Palladino and Rachel Brosnahan remade all historical and non-historical themes and plots in a direction that worked for maximum entertainment of viewers, their aesthetic tastes and only partly for historical knowledge. The reality of the series is not a stand-up story based on the example of Mrs. Maisel, but an artistic reality in this genre. The techniques of splitting the personality of the hero are analyzed in more detail, as well as the presentation of the artist's personal life and problems as a skillful play on stage.
